Director & self-shooter

I grew up in the middle of the countryside in Eastern Finland, next to the Russian border. I spent my days playing the cello and watching film classics. I had a burning desire to reach out into the wide world and along the way my roots have become the source of inspiration.

I am passionate about observational storytelling. My films have been screened at Finnish Broadcasting Company YleEdinburgh International Film Festival, National Film and Television School, The Finnish National Audiovisual Archives and several festivals and venues. I’m currently commissioned by the Finnish Broadcasting Company.

Originally from Finland, I am a graduate of the MA in Documentary Directing at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) and received my Masters from Royal College of Art. My NFTS graduation film Markku and Me was long listed for BIFA - British Independent Film Awards.

I’m currently directing an international science documentary for Yle (FI) and Arte (FR) and several other documentaries for Yle.
